Back Home

Scott's surgery went very well today. The procedure took less than the expected one hour. The cyst is draining into a bag that is attached by tubing, from about his upper/middle stomach area. We will call Dr. Sielaff's office tomorrow to get our next visit arranged. In the mean time we will just montior the drainage at home. Scott will stay on TPN feeding until he is back to "normal" eating again. This surgery is a "wait and see what happens next", but Dr. Sielaff seemed very confident that this is the right treatment, and improvement should be rapid.

Our home RN will visit tomorrow for the weekly blood draw and changing of Scott's chest port needle.

He is resting right now, it's been a long day for him.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers heading our way!!

We're praying that Scott can endure this surgery(procedure?) as well or better than the preceding events in his recovery. You both need a medal for toughing it out. Yvonne was jealous of the attention Scott was getting so she fell down the last step in a stairway and broke her hip. We're in a Oshkosh hospital for a week or so yet. Thanks to the snow shovelers, aka Rudesills.

Hey Buddy

You two are amazing. I don't know if I would have had the stamina or courage that you two have endured this past year. I know Santa will be great to the both of you. God knows you've earned it.

Nathan wants us to come to his new home in Woodville for Christmas, so maybe (if you are up to it), we can stop down and say hi. I'll even sing a Christmas Carol for you. (Now wouldn't that wreck Christmas). Happy Holidays, Best Wishes, all our Love and prayers will be with you as always.
