"Out" week 1

This has been a quiet week for Scott, he's still feeling the effects of the chemo, but slowly progressing each day, the shingles are fading. Scott is resting a lot and staying close to home. Still waiting for the Pack to have a break out week :-)

Not doing too much this weekend, we plan to take a short drive and see some colorful leaves.

Take Care All.

Hey Scott, Just got back from Vancouver, B.C. Attended P.E.O. convention. Got home last night. Trying to play catch up this week. It always costs to go away...ha ha Hope all is well with you this week and that you are feeling a little better. Eric has inventory at the store this weekend, so we won't be gong to WB. My feelings aren't too terribly hurt :) :) Hi to all and I will talk to you soon. Love, cousin Kris
So glad that you are getting plenty of rest and feeling better each day!
Thought of you when I heard about the Packers on Sun.--Go Pack--huh!?
I hope that you got to see some nice Fall colors, not much down here, but I don't think there will be, because we had such a hot, dry summer.
Looks like we won't get up to Chippewa until Christmas--sure would like to see you if you will be in town around then too!
Wow--can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner--man--such a hectic time of year!
Take care of eachother-
Love,
Bernie W.

Dear Scott & Roxane & family,

We've never met though we do have a connection - my Mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer earlier this year. She also has the same oncologist at the U of M. Mom's battle continues. It's been a very difficult year for each of our families and especially, for Scott and my courageous, dear sweet Mom. I just wanted you both to know that I'm keeping you in my prayers. I can tell Scott is a good person and is very well-liked. I have to say that my Mom is...well...simply perfect. Good people like Scott & Mom do not deserve this. I have so much admiration for you Scott! Keep up with that fighting attitude! Mind over body - ok? Please take care.

Very sincerely,

A MN Viking's Fan :)

Two weeks out...

This last week has been a slow progress with up and down days, Sunday was an "up" day, yes... the Packers won!! Today he even ate a cheeseburger from BK, he has decided he has had enough of the lean cusine menu, his eating still is a challenge but he is trying new (old) things again.

As the days pass by we are expecting even better days ahead.

BK cheeseburger! Bet that tasted good!
My sister just called me about the Chi Hi bus accident!
Gosh--it will be such a sad week in Chippewa!
My niece was on a different bus, so we are all very grateful for that. But my heart breaks for all of the kids and families involved. I am sure that most people in Chippewa will know someone who's life has been deeply affected by this tragedy.
Chippewa Falls and Chi Hi are very special places to me--and you guys too, I am sure!
Take good care-
Love,
Bernie W.

Third week "out" - Test day the 25th

Scott is doing well. He has gotten out a bit more this week and plans to go to CF tonight to visit, I will pick him up Saturday afternoon, so that should be a fun trip!!

We are enjoying a very nice Fall season here in Western WI, the color is holding and the weather has been warm, I guess we could expect a change this weekend though.

Next Tuesday is re-check CT scan day, and a visit @ 3pm with Dr. Greeno. As always we are a bit tense with this day looming, but are expecting great results.

You know what Scott will be doing on Sunday @ noon....GO PACK!!!

Thanks for all your words of encouragement and prayers.
Roxane & Scott

Hey Scott, You'll be in my thoughts on Tuesday. Good luck with the check up. Hope all is going well. Hope you had a good weekend in CF. What a horrible game for the Packers! We don't get too many Packer games here on the West Coast, but Kevan & I got to hear the live covereage of it on one of our sports tier stations. I don't suppose you heard us screaming all the way to Wisconsin after the field goal with 2 seconds left, huh??? Darn!
So have a good week and we'll check in with you later. Love to all.........cousin Kris
Hi,
Thinking about you!
Hope that all your tests come back great tomorrow!
Sorry that the Pack lost.
Thrilled that the White Sox are doing so well though--wow pretty exciting down here--even for us non sports fans! I would LOVE to see them win--what a boost that would be for Chicago. And maybe that Cellular Field could sell more tickets and fill more seats next year!
Keep getting stronger, Scott!
Only 2 more months til Christmas--YIKES!
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
Lots of Love,
Bernie W.

ALL CLEAR :-)

Scott's CT Scan was CLEAR today for signs of disease...NO CANCER...this is really GREAT NEWS!!!

Dr. Greeno did notice though that Scott does have some leaking pancreatic fluid that needs to be drained. The Gastro Doc's want to wait two weeks to let the walls firm up and they will go in by EUS surgery and put drains in so this will not happen again. Dates for this surgery will be firmed up tomorrow, right now they are thinking Nov 8th for another CT scan, and EUS on the 9th, with a stay overnight at Fairview following the procedure. This cyst-like sac resting on Scott's stomach has probably been the problem with some of his eating issues, so he will be happy when this is taken care.

Tomorrow he sees Dr. McCann in Hudson for a regular visit, he got a flu shot today, and is a very happy guy tonight!!

No date set yet...

No date has been set for the surgery of the pseudocyst that Scott has. We now expect to hear something on Monday, he is doing ok but is getting a little anxious about the surgery and all. But from what we have read about this surgery, results are excellent and recovery very quick. He is looking forward to the ability to eat, and perhaps even enjoy food again!

Next weekend is his trip to Green Bay for the game against the Steelers, he is really looking forward to that, could be another tough game for GB this week again, last weeks was a heartbreaker wasn't it...no comments please Viking Fans :-)

We are meeting Ben & Jen today at Babies R Us...getting a little pre-shopping for William done. We are having lunch, Claire may join us too. Sounds like today will be a beautiful day and a nice Fall weekend, we have a little more yard work to do, but are just about ready for winter.

Happy Halloween everyone, hope you only get treats!!

Roxane
